Director of International Business Development

We are excited to add an experienced Director of International Business Development to our growing team. This high-profile role will be responsible for launching and growing the DevaCurl brand internationally.

 

Who you are:

  • Has prior international expansion experience (particularly EU and/or Brazil experience)
  • Understanding of commercial activation outside of the US
  • Possesses an entrepreneurial drive to build new business
  • Experience with Distributors, and/or brick & mortar retailers and .Com retailers
  • Strong analytical skills and a “passion for the numbers” in order to make strategic decisions based on business analysis and ROI
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and prioritize competing tasks
  • Exceptional time management skills and ability to meet project deadlines head-on
  • 5+ years of management experience required
  • Experience with financial models, business plans, and contracts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to work well with a variety of partners and diverse stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Beauty/CPG industry experience preferred

What you’ll do:

  • Responsible for strategically launching and developing the overall DevaCurl business (and eventually team) in countries outside of North America (specific target regions currently include, but are not limited to, U.K., France, Spain, Italy, Germany, other EU countries, Brazil and beyond)
  • Brand rollout focusing on the launch and execution of global professional haircare distributors, international retailers and .Com retailers
  • Support the commercial relationship between international division and US channels to optimize content pipeline for global distribution
  • Lead collaborative efforts with colleagues across the business to gather and assess internal and external information to formulate, analyze, and validate business ideas and initiatives
  • Identify, analyze, negotiate for and develop new partnership opportunities and strategic alliances that support growth objectives
  • Provide end-to-end leadership on highly complex and visible strategic and operational initiatives. You will work with multiple cross-functional partners, translating goals and objectives into work plans and procedures.
  • Drive measurable results against business-critical metrics, and consistently optimizes, adapts and navigates ambiguity to meet objectives
  • Approximately 50% travel
